Dorothy Marie Morris
1936
Dorothy Marie Morris was the only child of Robert Edward Morris and Lillie Lee Weston.1 Born in 1936, she grew up in the Morris family that traced its roots through Walker County, Texas, to the McAdams community.
Family
Dorothy married Don Graef. They had two children: Randy Morris, born in 1957, and Vondell Morris, born in 1961.2
Her father R.E. was the eldest child of James Walter Morris and Ethel Arrine Thompson, and grew up first on the family farm and then in Huntsville, where his father ran a barber shop at 1425 Fifteenth Street.1
Connection to the Ledbetter Family
Through her aunt Margaret Alline Morris Craig, Dorothy was connected to the Ledbetter line. Margaret’s daughter Barbara Jean McDuffie married William Burl Ledbetter in 1955, uniting the Morris-Thompson-McAdams heritage with the Ledbetter family.2
