Craig Marriage License Announcement

A newspaper clipping announcing the issuance of a marriage license to Richard Craig and Margaret Alline Morris in June 1947. Margaret — author, family historian, and daughter of James Walter Morris Sr. — married Richard Craig after a courtship that coincided with her brother James Walter Morris Jr.’s return from wartime service.

Margaret would go on to compile Stories and Poems, the family history of the Morris, Thompson, and McAdams lines, preserving generations of records that now form a cornerstone of this website. Her daughter Barbara Jean McDuffie later married William Burl Ledbetter, uniting the Morris and Ledbetter families.
